From the lobby to the floor

The gaming floor is inside the hotel’s own building.

Two readings exist, and this site shows both. On the Gambling Commission register, Grosvenor Casino Gloucester Road sits at 4–18 Harrington Gardens, SW7 4LJ; the hotel uses 4–18 Harrington Gardens, SW7 4LH. Same numbers, postcodes one letter apart, which is why the gaming floor is counted here as inside the hotel building.

The hotel's own accessibility guide, however, describes the casino as immediately next door rather than inside. Neither source describes an indoor passage from lobby to gaming floor, and no walking time is published, so check the route at the front desk.

The week, hour by hour

Each line is one day from midnight to midnight. The wide band is the casino floor, the narrow one the live tables, and the brass tick marks when the room is ready.

At the door

On your first visit you sign in once, free, at reception with photo ID; after that you simply walk in.

The gaming floor is for over-18s only. Under Think 25, anyone who could pass for younger is asked for a passport, a photocard driving licence or a card with the PASS hologram.

What to wear: smart casual. The operator notes that standards can vary by venue and event, and prefers long trousers to shorts.

Paying downstairs

Chips are paid for in pounds, in cash or with a debit card, at the table or the cage. Credit cards cannot be used for gambling in Great Britain, and the house gives no credit.

Casino spending never reaches the hotel bill. Buying or cashing chips worth £2,000 or more brings identity checks required by anti-money-laundering law.

The room side

Check-in opens at 15:00 and rooms are due back by 12:00; a minimum check-in age is not published. Korean Grill Kensington and Humphrey’s Bar are the named places to eat and drink, with breakfast in South West 7. There is a gym and room service, but no spa and no pool. Six fully accessible rooms have a step-free wet-room shower, and the six guest lifts announce each floor aloud.
